704, 252 area codes make up more than half of the top 25.

HighSchoolOT released the new men’s basketball rankings for the week of January 9th. After the halfway point of the season, the overall state hierarchy becomes clearer. This week, 13 of his HSOT top 25 teams in the state come from 704 or 252 area codes.

The top seven teams remain unchanged from last week’s rankings. Concord Academy dropped out of the top 25 after losing to unranked Gaston Christian. 19-1 Christ School ranked in top 10. The biggest mover of the week was the 14-0 Northern Nash, who moved from No. 25 to No. 15 in the state. The Knights defeated the Millbrook team, who were top 25 regulars. The team participated in statewide rankings this week.
