SPRINGFIELD, Missouri (KY3) – A Springfield man has been charged after investigators found him in possession of multiple photographs and videos of child pornography.
Craig Rhoden, 56, is charged with two counts of propagating first-degree child pornography and possessing child pornography, according to court documents.
According to the Probable Cause Statement, in May 2022, investigators at the Springfield Police Department received multiple cyber tips. Yahoo had flagged three different emails of his that were used to upload hundreds of images and videos containing potentially child sexual abuse material.
Authorities were able to link these accounts to Craig Rhoden. Authorities said some of the images included children as young as a few days old, and images of adults having sex with infants were also found.
According to court records, officials found an online folder containing “upskirt pictures of kids at Walmart.” Authorities searched various email addresses from Roden and found that he received a paycheck from Walmart, Roden told investigators he was at 2825 N. Kansas Expressway where he worked for Walmart. said.
In January 2023, authorities issued a search warrant at Laudens’ home and arrested him. He told investigators that the multiple emails used were his. I mentioned that there are likely to be thousands of photos and videos to be found.
“I wasn’t necessarily attracted to children, but I got excited about child pornography because it was taboo,” Roden told authorities.
Roden is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, January 18.
