Dear Ina,
I have been selling on Amazon for several years. Over the past few months, I’ve seen a significant increase in emails from Amazon notifying me that one of my listings was deactivated due to a pricing error.
These motherfuckers are very annoying. Most of the time they won’t re-list my listings until my new items are priced lower than the used ones. This makes no sense at all. I was even told to adjust my price when it wasn’t the highest price on the list.
The icing on the cake was given to me last week. Amazon was also listing it, so it was a competing listing.
Why isn’t this fixed price??? What right does Amazon have to tell me how I have to price my product if I want it to be seen on Amazon? I don’t know how it is allowed.
“A price fixation is an agreement between competitors to raise, fix, or maintain the selling price of a product or service. Competitors do not have to agree to charge exactly the same price. Also, all competitors in a particular industry are complicit in the conspiracy.”
I know Amazon is a huge company and probably no one wants to work on it, but isn’t this a blatant violation of price fixing laws???
