With Kindle Scribe, Amazon brought its popular range of e-readers into the digital paper/E Ink tablet market, offering a much larger screen than before and writing capabilities for the first time on a Kindle.
It’s not a complicated device to use, but you’ll need to dig a little deeper to learn some of the new features and get the most out of them. , here are some of the most useful and worth knowing tips and features. Read the written guide or watch the video below to master your new digital notebook.
Erase an entire section of writing
When you’re taking notes or scribbling, there will come a time when you don’t want to overwrite and erase. Sometimes it’s quicker and easier to erase an entire section from a page.Drop down the floating menu next to it, tap the Eraser tool to select it, tap it again, and from the pop-up window[選択範囲を消す]Choose. Now you can use your pen to enclose the area you want to remove. A dotted line appears, and when you close the loop, everything inside the loop disappears.
If you want to delete the entire page, select “Erase entire page” from the same menu.If you want to delete a page to remove it from your notebook, tap near the top of the screen, select the More menu in the corner, and from the dropdown box[現在のページを削除]Choose.
Use pen shortcuts
If you have a Kindle Scribe with a premium pen, you’ll notice a clickable button on the side. Press and hold this and then tap the pen on the screen to program it to trigger a specific function. To set, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap[すべての設定]Choose. Find “Pen” in the list.on the next screen[ペン ショートカット], you’ll see four options: highlighter, pen, eraser, and sticky note. I’ve found it most useful for creating sticky notes in e-books, but it’s equally useful as a highlighter in your notes, saving you from having to go to the tools menu each time.
By default, a pop-up floating tool menu appears on the left side of the screen to select the Pen or Erase tool. However, it can also be placed on the right side if desired. Drop down the menu and tap the three dots at the bottom to[右側に移動]Choose.
Change pen thickness
It’s pretty basic, but an essential tool to know. You can change the thickness of the pen or highlighter tool by tapping the pen, highlighter, or eraser tool, then tapping again to load the thickness. Please choose your favorite thickness.
Add sticky notes to your book
Another simple but important scribe tip is to add sticky notes to pages and words in your book. You can use the pen shortcut methods above if you prefer. Or, if you prefer, open the Tools menu, select the small sticky note icon, and tap the word or area of the screen where you want to add the sticky note. Select the text option to write with a pen or type with the on-screen keyboard.
If you want to see all your handwritten or text notes for a particular book, tap near the top of the screen and select the icon that looks like a note. Simply scroll through the notes in that book or tap on the one you want to see to go to that page and view your notes.
Delete sticky notes
If you no longer need a particular sticky note, you can easily delete it. Open the sticky note you want to delete, tap the small tool icon, select “Clear page”, tap the cross to finish, and confirm the deletion.
Share notebooks by email
If you want to share your notebook with other devices, you can do so via email. Attached to an email and sent as a PDF. With a notebook open, tap near the top of the screen to bring up the notebook menu. Tap the Share button, which looks like a square with a slightly curved arrow. You will see two options at the bottom. One option to quickly send to email addresses you’ve already added, or[メールで共有]Optional. Tap the latter to add the type to another email address. As an example, it’s useful if you want to send something to your work account instead of your personal account.
Send documents to Kindle
Kindle Scribe is both a document reading tool and an e-reader and notebook replacement device. It supports the most popular document formats such as doc and PDF, the latter of which allows you to easily annotate with your pen. Perfect for signing documents or filling out forms by hand. First, we need to submit these documents to the library. There are several ways to do this.
The two easiest ways we’ve found are the “Send to Kindle” tool and the mobile app. If you go to Amazon.com/sendtokindle and sign in to your Amazon account, you can drag and drop supported files and they will be uploaded to your Kindle library in the cloud. Then on Kindle Scribe (or other Kindle)[ライブラリ]It will automatically appear in the tab.
With the mobile app, all you need to do is make sure you have the Kindle app installed on your smartphone or tablet and signed into your Amazon account. On Android, open the PDF or document you want to send,[共有], and choose Kindle Options from the share sheet. The process is almost the same on iPhone. Open the document, click “Share”, and find the Kindle option (it may be in the “More” list). After adding the filename, you can share it with your library.
change note style
When you create a new notebook, you can choose from various template styles. However, if you decide to change that template after you start writing, you can. You are not stuck with your first choice. Open the notebook you want to change, tap near the top edge of the display, and you’ll see a small notebook icon with a little gear. Tap this to access your notebook’s settings. You can change the name, change the cover and change the template. You can choose from the options available from the beginning.
organize your notes
When you open the Notebooks screen showing your entire library of notebooks, the default organization puts recently accessed books first. You can change this sorting method to another method if you prefer. Simply tap the three-line icon in the upper right to sort notebooks by title, type, or date created or modified. Additionally, you can switch from ascending to descending order, or display them in a list instead of a grid, if that’s more manageable for you.
schedule warm light
Like some of the other high-end Kindles, the Scribe features a warm light setting that changes the color temperature of the front lighting system. Of course, you can also switch it on manually and adjust the warmth using the sliders in the dropdown shade. However, tapping Schedule will bring up the Warmth Schedule menu. When turned on, you can choose to have it automatically gradually adapt to sunsets and sunrises in your location, or set it to turn on at a specific time and manually set your preferred warmth level. increase.
Adjust the overall display size
You can change the style and size of the font anyway while reading the book. This is a standard Kindle feature. However, you can change the display size to increase the text size of the Kindle user interface and make it easier to read.[すべての設定]Open the menu and[デバイス オプション],[表示設定],[表示サイズ]or[アクセシビリティ],[表示サイズ]to the next.[表示サイズ]on the screen[大]Choose. Now all menus in Kindle Scribe will have a larger text size.
Add device passcode
We recommend protecting your Kindle Scribe with a passcode. Especially if you don’t want other users to have access to your notebook’s contents. To enable it, drop down the shade from the top,[すべての設定]then move to[デバイス オプション]Go to.[デバイス パスコード]enter a four-digit or longer numeric PIN in the pop-up window, and then enter it again.[OK]to set.
Manage your storage
The file types that Kindle Scribe reads are generally very small, so you rarely need to worry about how much storage Kindle Scribe uses. However, if you want to manually delete items from storage or offload older ones to the cloud, you can. Open Settings, find “Advanced Settings”, “Storage Management”.
To remove it manually,[手動削除]Select an option. More convenient for us is Quick Archive. Tap on it and here you can choose to delete and offload anything that hasn’t been opened in 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. Select the desired period and[削除]Tap.
open web browser
One of the lesser-known features of the Kindle e-reader is an experimental web browser. It’s been around for a few years and can be found at the bottom of the home screen[その他]Just click the tab to access it. You should see “Web Browser” in the list. It can be a very annoying experience, so we recommend using it only when absolutely necessary.
