The “Wheel of Time” book series was created by Robert Jordan, who died before finishing the final installment. Luckily, he left enough notes for writer Brandon Sanderson to finish the last book in the series. The final work in the series, ‘A Memory of Light’ was finally released in his 2013. With all that in mind, Sanderson recently joined us for a livestream marking his 10th anniversary of “A Memory of Light.”
During the livestream, Sanderson revealed that the scheming character known as Ranfia, whom fans previously believed to have been killed in “Memories of Light”, actually survived her death. In fact, Sanderson not only survived her death, but used coercion to kill her “killer”, Perrin (played by Marcus Rutherford in Amazon’s “Wheel of Time”). ) to make her believe he succeeded.
Sanderson said that there are several moments in the final “Wheel of Time” book that allude to Ramfia’s ultimate survival. and her own insatiable thirst for power has led her to make multiple moves throughout the Wheel of Time book against both her enemies and supposed “allies.” Her decision ultimately put her in a losing position when it comes to the central conflict of the book series.
Her only way to escape death was to ensure the downfall of her master, the Dark Ones, as well as convince the Light Forces that she was dead. , it was this train of thought that led to the formation of Lanfear’s plan.
