It’s only been a few days since AMD unveiled its new 3D V-Cache Zen 4 chips at CES 2023 this year. Perhaps in keeping with that announcement and some signals from China, the prices of the just-released Ryzen 7000 series AMD CPUs, including the top tier Ryzen 9 7950X, have clearly started to drop here in the US as well. .
The 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X had a suggested retail price of $699 at launch, but the chip is currently available on Amazon for just $568.99, saving $130.01 off the current suggested retail price. That’s a great price for a very fast CPU (full review).
Of course, the 7950X may be on sale, but it’s probably selling fast at that price, so who knows how long that will last. It sells and has impressive performance for a class built on the Zen 4 architecture. This is a very good time to pick a few components and start a fairly affordable build.
On the topic of starting a new build, you can use bundles to make it a little easier if you want, but be sure to also check the prices of the individual components to ensure you’re getting the best deal.
All of these are solid deals in our eyes, especially for the individual chips themselves. There’s also a new round of competition between Intel and AMD, so it’s likely we’ll see more deals in the coming days, so we’ll be keeping an eye on them here.
