If you don’t want to blow your budget on a smart TV, just connect a digital media player like Chromecast to your compatible TV instead.
4K vs 8K
Unless you’re on a tight budget, it’s worth jumping into a 4K TV. These increasingly affordable models look better than their lower-res alternatives.

LED LCD vs OLED vs QLED

- Accessory budget: If you plan to add elements such as a soundbar or digital media player to your TV setup, don’t forget to factor in their costs.
- Refresh rate – higher is better: When shopping for a TV, the jargon can make your head explode. But the important thing to keep in mind is the refresh rate. The refresh rate determines the smoothness of motion on the screen. If possible, please use 120Hz.
- Screen size: Don’t get hung up on the biggest screen size you can afford. Consider your living area and how many TVs you actually need.
- Go HDR: High dynamic range (HDR) TVs have more color and contrast than non-HDR TVs, so if the extra cost isn’t exorbitant, they’re worth the purchase.
