A woman documented a “beat-up” pumpkin pie she received from a Walmart delivery and voiced her complaint on a viral TikTok.
The video was uploaded by TikTok user Gailina (@therealgailinax) to reveal to her 243,000 followers the quality of the pumpkin pie she ordered from Walmart delivery. At the beginning of the video, she says the problem with Walmart deliveries is that they “always do the worst.”
Guyrina then unwraps the pie, revealing it was in a half-cracked state, and that it should be put in the “rulebook” to give delivery customers “absolutely the worst shit”. I repeated. The clip skipped from the dented, soggy-looking container to the pie.
Guyrina called out the corporate giants in the caption, writing, “They can never do better @ Walmart, which sucks.”
@therealgailinax can’t go wrong 😭 they’re terrible @walmart do better 😑
In an email to the Daily Dot, Guyrina revealed that the pie was from Walmart in Oklahoma City. She shared feedback on the pie and how she left her SiteJabber review, but she didn’t respond.
“I didn’t get a refund because the only option available was to ‘return’ the pie.” That means I have to take it back to the store and I have no transportation as I am disabled and don’t drive. So why did I order delivery,” Gaylina wrote, referring to a comment on TikTok telling her to pick up the pie herself.
She continues: Produce sucks. They choose items that are very small, almost rotten, or molded. “
Guyrina argued that for most Walmart delivery orders, employees choose the food and that the driver’s only job is to deliver the goods. We noted that we received a number of comments confirming that customers in the store were being told to pick items to skip.
“We’ve also had comments from employees saying they’re told to choose the best products, so I think it’s a store-by-store case,” she said. I said I’ll just grab the first one I see because of the restrictions.”
The video has over 164,000 views as of January 8, and people in the comments have confirmed that as Walmart employees, quality is not a priority.
A Walmart employee claimed, “As an employee, I can confirm that I’ve been told to pass items that are unlikely to be picked in the store to anyone who orders them.”
“lol oh yeah they definitely give away what they aren’t [sell] first time. If you don’t like it, you can drive to the store next time,” claimed her second user.
Gailina uses Instacart most of the time for her Daily Dot, but Walmart Plus, Walmart’s paid subscription service, offers a 30-day free trial and comes with free delivery, so she doesn’t like this option. He said he would like to use the service.
“Honestly, it’s not worth it,” she argued. “And despite free delivery, I will never order delivery from Walmart again. I’ve had too many bad experiences.”
Guyina said she still eats pies because she doesn’t believe in wasting food that hasn’t expired, but criticized Walmart for often delivering poor quality groceries. said it was ethically and morally unfair, especially for those relying on delivery.
“A lot of people said they stopped ordering Walmart delivery because of this,” Guyina claimed. “This is a big problem because many of us are disabled, bedridden, or simply don’t have a car and can’t physically go to the store to shop ourselves. Because they can’t, they have to rely on delivery … Sadly, many of these companies are only concerned with profit over customer satisfaction.”
