Do It Yourself Decorating With Pumpkins

It’s formally fall, and we’ve already started embellishing your house! Probably the most iconic fall decor is the pumpkin. This year, I wished to spice things up rather of simply setting out plain, orange pumpkins around our home, so I looked for fascinating ideas for decorating with pumpkins. Let me know which one you try!

DIY Decorating with Pumpkins

Here's a post on different ways to decorate your home using pumpkins!

Mums in a Pumpkin

This first decoration would make a fantastic focal point for supper, Thanksgiving, on a table in the living room or perhaps just to set by your front door! Jenny Hobick goes action by action how to create this stunning focal point. It’s truly simple! Initially, find a vase to suit your pumpkin and pick the flowers you want. Draw a summary of the vase around the top, center of the pumpkin so you can cut and carve it out. You can either use flower foam or not to begin setting up the flowers. You can make it as dramatic or easy as you desire with the colors and even type of pumpkin you like best gourds and pine cones!

Fall Lanterns with pumpkins, gourds and pine cones!

Pumpkin-Filled Lanterns

Have an empty container asking to be filled!.?.!? Here’s an excellent option! Fill it with small pumpkins, pine cones and gourds. You can even paint the pumpkins to match your house’s color design. Whether it’s a lantern, a vase, a glass lamp base, or something else, this would be an excellent alternative for some easy cheer.

Velvet Pumpkins

A couple of years ago I saw The Nester post about some velvet pumpkins she got. I believed they were so intriguing! I just recently went on a hunt to discover a DIY version of them. Sadie Priss provided a step by step tutorial for these charms. She used crush velvet cut into a circle, filled the velvet with a rice/polyfill combination and collected the edges to stitch them shut. One top, she glued deserted stems that she discovered in a regional pumpkin patch( definitely a low-cost option). If you can’t find stems so quickly, you can buy an inexpensive pumpkin, cut off the stem and prepare the pumpkin seeds while you’re working on this craft!
