Everyone made the same joke about Al Michaels Saturday night while watching the AFC Wild Card playoff game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Trevor Lawrence had a brutal start to the game, throwing four interceptions in the first half. Every turnover gave the Chargers a dominant 27-0 lead.
Fans watching the Jaguars get blown away in primetime games were reminded of the kind of “Thursday Night Football” game Michaels asked Amazon for this season. The Amazons are known for their poor matchups and games that turn into one-sided outbursts, so Saturday’s playoff game is a good fit.
The Chargers vs. Jaguars match was being broadcast by NBC, who used Michaels to call the game, but fans were joking about the Amazon curse that followed Michaels.
The Jaguars thought they were at Amazon when they heard Al Michaels operating the game.

It’s so funny that Al Michaels is back for a one-night-only network game and Amazon Games somehow followed him

You can take Al Michaels out of Amazon Prime, but you can’t take Amazon Prime out of Al Michaels.

Playing like a Thursday night game on Amazon.
I mean, Al Michaels is calling the game…but it’s Saturday, right?

Al Michaels thought he had a real football game tonight after a lackluster season with Amazon.

Al Michaels brought the stink of the Amazon back to NBC

You can take Al Michaels from the Amazons, but you can’t take the Amazons from Al Michaels

Given the flow of the Chargers-Jaggs game, I couldn’t help but feel that way. The game could have been on Amazon…and Thursday night.
