SOUTH EUCLIDE, Ohio — Police have arrested a suspected shoplifter in Cuyahoga County.
A Walmart Supercenter in South Euclid first called police last Thursday after a man left the store with both a suitcase and a shopping cart filled with various meats, but had to pay for them. After throwing everything that didn’t fit in his suitcase into the trash, he fled the area, but was eventually apprehended by police at the RTA bus stop across the street.
Authorities said the suspect was identified as a 62-year-old man from Garfield Heights who told officers he planned to sell the meat to the restaurant at half its normal face value. was found to have “several” valid warrants against him, making it the 70th arrest in his lifetime.
Authorities have not released the man’s name. He has been charged with theft and has been booked, and no court records are available at this time.
