Google has announced a series of new features that will be added to the Search page. These features are designed to facilitate price comparisons and help shoppers make better deals.
The rollout of these new features is expected to help online shoppers find cheaper products and better promotions as the holiday shopping season begins.
This update includes three new additions to the search functionality. Here’s what consumers can expect:
1. Price Insight
The Price Insights feature is designed to help online shoppers compare product prices with other retailers. It shows whether the price of each item is cheap, average, or expensive. This helps determine whether consumers are overpaying for a product or are getting a good deal.
2. Price comparison
This is another feature that helps shoppers find the lowest prices on products. Instead of checking each retailer individually, Google compares and shows prices for a particular item in different stores. This makes online shopping faster and easier.
3. New Coupons and Promotions
The final addition to Google Search is “new coupons and promotion labels.” This feature automatically tags items on sale to help speed up the shopping process. Instead of having to check each retailer’s website, the shopper can click on the promotion to save it to his clipboard and paste it on his checkout page when finalizing the purchase.
Announcing the new update, Shashi Thakur, Google vice president and general manager of consumer shopping, wrote: Special offers come to mind especially this year. 43% of Americans planning to shop for the holidays plan to look for more deals and sales than they did last year. That’s why we’re sharing some new features to help you easily find those discounts and get the perfect gift at the right price. “
