Visit Amazon’s Appstore download page, download the APK file, and open it. Grant permission to “Install unknown apps” when prompted. Finally, tap “Install” to install the Amazon Appstore.
Android devices almost always come with the Google Play Store for downloading apps and games. However, if you want to use Android without a Google Account, there is another way. One popular option is the Amazon Appstore.
The Amazon Appstore is the app store available for Amazon Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and Windows 11. It’s much smaller than the Play Store, but it’s the next best option. We will show you how to install it on your Android device.
Sideload the Amazon Appstore. First, open a web browser such as Google Chrome on your Android device and visit Amazon’s Appstore download page.
Then tap the Get Amazon Appstore button.
The APK file will start downloading after a few seconds. Once completed, open the file from the notification.
Before installing, you may be asked to grant the “Install unknown apps” permission to your browser. Go to settings to toggle the option on.
Tap “Install” on the popup, or select it again if the file doesn’t come back from the notification.
Tap Open when you’re done and you can start using the Amazon Appstore!
Using an Android phone without a Google account is not easy. And while Amazon may not seem to be better, at least there are some alternatives. F-Droid is another app store worth checking out.
