
Paul Misener, Amazon’s vice president of global innovation policy and communications, is stepping down.
Misener joined Amazon in 1999 and served as Vice President for nearly 23 years. He helped found Amazon’s global public policy organization, which he led from 2000 until 2016.
Misener negotiated sales tax deals with politicians, testified before Congress, and lobbied the U.S. government to adopt regulations for autonomous drone flights.

Misener also chaired an FAA technical subcommittee in 2013, responsible for enabling commercial airline passengers to use portable electronic devices during taxi, takeoff and landing.
Prior to joining Amazon, Misener was a manager at Intel and a partner at Wiley, Rein & Fielding.he is based in Washington DC
