MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG) — At a brief hearing Friday morning, a judge in Mobile upheld prosecutors’ requests to temporarily deny bail to a man charged with two counts of shooting and armed burglary. Admitted.
Darius Lawther, 19, was implicated in the December 27 I-65 Walmart shooting, the November 26 paparazzi club shooting, and the December 16 home invasion by militants. Suspected.
Rowser is charged with attempted murder, five counts of assault, first degree burglary, shooting an empty car, shooting a occupied residence, and reckless endangerment. He was arrested on January 4th.
Bail denial was based on Ania’s Law, which allows judges to deny bail to suspects of violent crimes to prevent them from committing other crimes.
Another hearing will be held next week. No date has been set for that hearing. Rowser was ordered not to come into contact with nine victims in three cases.
