Prince Harry said he “keep calm” when his brother Prince William used a secret code in an alleged altercation at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in 2021.
Speaking to ITV’s Tom Bradby in an exclusive interview ahead of the memoir’s release, the Duke of Sussex said at his grandfather’s funeral that he had his eyes on him so he could tell him that his brother loved him and wanted him to be happy. He claimed that he was forced to watch
Harry continued, telling his brother that he loved him too, but that his “stubbornness was extraordinary” and that he had pulled him away. You must listen to me, I just want you to be happy, Harold, I swear, I swear on the life of a mummy,” he claimed.
Harry said that William “had been using secret codes, universal passwords since we were boys, and this stopped them.”
The Duke explained the meaning of the code and said he reserved the phrase for when he believed they needed to hear it. After admitting, “Not because he used it, but because it didn’t work. I simply didn’t believe him.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Harry recalls another encounter with his brother, claiming it was physical.
