QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Warren County grand jury indicted on six counts a man accused of shooting in a Walmart parking lot off Route 9 in Queensbury last November. Adrian A. Simental, 33, is accused of shooting a man in the hip following an alleged rage incident on the road.
An agent from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Walmart on November 27th at about 4:00 pm. The store had been evacuated and the victim had been shot by the time officers arrived.
Police say Simtal and the victim nearly collided near Northway Plaza. Police said he followed the victim into a Walmart parking lot, pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the lower abdomen.
Police said Simmental drove off after the shooting but was tracked down following an investigation.He was arrested on November 30.
The victim was treated at Glens Falls Hospital, transferred to Albany Medical Center and released. Police say he is expected to make a full recovery.
The indictment charges Simental as follows:
- Two counts for second degree criminal possession of a weapon
- 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon
- 3rd Degree Intimidation
- Attempted First Degree Assault
- second degree assault
Simental pleaded not guilty in an arraignment Wednesday before Warren County Judge Robert Smith. He was sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail. He plans to return to Warren County Courthouse on February 15.
