Remember the viral “pink sauce” that took TikTok and Twitter by storm in July 2022?
Fluorescent Seasoning, which amassed millions of TikTok views when it was first mentioned on the app in June 2022, will roll out in more than 4,300 Walmart stores across the U.S. after the sauce’s creator, Chef Pii. I plan to Partnered with Dave’s Gourmet LLC.
This comes nearly six months after the source became embroiled in a dispute over product safety and distribution.
After Pink Sauce went viral in June, Chef Pii (@chef.pii) shipped out bottles of the product from his online store. But as Passion Fruit previously reported, concerns and complaints were soon inundated.
Some viewers noted that the sauce had no nutritional labeling in previous videos. Others expressed concern that the product could look like it was cooked in a home kitchen and range in color from hot pink to baby pink. Customers who reportedly received damaged or damaged items were also complaining.
“I think you can’t go wrong when you’re great, but I mean, yes. My team is working quickly to fix the problem,” said Passionfruit in July 2022. Chef Pii said in an interview with “There have been some delays in entering the facility, etc. There have been shipping issues. However, we are working quickly to fix all issues.”
According to a press release provided to Passionfruit by a Dave’s Gourmet spokesperson, this is where hot sauce brands come in.
“Chef Pee and Dave’s Gourmet have entered into an exclusive partnership, with Dave’s Gourmet taking responsibility as the exclusive supplier and distributor of Pink Sauce,” the press release reads. “Chef Pea continues to drive social media and other aspects of Pink Sauce.”
The product is produced “on a commercial scale” in accordance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s guidelines for safe quality food, the release added. [SQF] Certified facility.
But that doesn’t mean Chef Pea isn’t busy. Vegan and vegetarian versions of the infamous sauce are also now being produced after Chef Piy developed the recipe “in Miami’s kitchen,” according to the release.
The Pink Sauce will cost $9.99 and will be available exclusively at Walmart through July 2023.
Passion Fruit reached out to Chef Pea and Walmart via email for comment, but did not hear back in time for this article’s publication.
