RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — After being empty for more than three years, the West Grace Street storefront that once housed a small Walmart has reopened.
The Ram City Market at 912 West Grace Street will have a soft opening in December 2022 and will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, January 25, according to Virginia Commonwealth University.

Stores on the bottom floor of a seven-story building owned by VCU used to be Home of Walmart, opened in April 2015 It was vacant from June to December 2019.
According to a university release, Rum City Market features “fresh produce, coffee to go, ready-to-eat meals and a variety of dry groceries, all at prices comparable to major grocery stores.” .
In addition to cash, debit, and credit, the store accepts RamBucks, Swipe, Dining Dollars, and is in the process of accepting payments via SNAP. The store is operated by Aramark and VCU Dining Service.
