Walmart is known for affordable merchandise and consistent inventory, but one store in Washington, D.C. had empty shelves for days.
The deli was empty and closed and the produce shelves were mostly cleared.

The store said it had low inventory due to a broken freezer over the course of several weeks.
Food shortages are nothing new, but have been a problem here since the summer.
This caused many unhappy customers.

Within the Northwest DC area are: Whole Foods Safeway nearby.
Whole Foods is located at 1440 P St NW, Washington, DC.
Safeway is located at 490 L St NW, Washington DC.
There are other options, but prices skyrocket, especially at Whole Foods.
With egg prices skyrocketing due to the bird flu, customers can expect higher costs and lower inventories.
With few options, customers who relied on Northwest Walmart now have nowhere to get their groceries.
