So far, Walmart has achieved some positive results with its drone delivery program.
According to the discount giant, it has completed more than 6,000 deliveries via drone during 2022 within 30 minutes of a customer placing an order. Thirty-six Walmart stores in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and Virginia have drone delivery hubs operated by drone provider DroneUp (walmart is unspecified investment at DroneUp June 2021)Flightrex, Zipline.
According to Walmart, 85% of the items sold in its Neighborhood Market stores meet the weight and volume requirements for drone delivery. Top-selling items for drone delivery orders include cookies, ice cream, lemon bags, rotisserie chicken, and paper towels.
Going forward, Walmart plans to offer drone delivery services at scale, with 4,700 U.S. locations located within 90% of the U.S. population. recently Research Route optimization software provider Circuit named Walmart the most trusted company for automated, drone-based food delivery.

Usage
Drones can deliver over 10,000 eligible Walmart items weighing up to 10 pounds, including fragile items like eggs, in just 30 minutes. There is no minimum order and the shipping fee is $3.99. Once the goods are packed and loaded onto the drone, a cable is used to deliver the goods and the package is gently dropped off in the customer’s yard.
