Walmart partners with Salesforce to sell unique technology, services, customer insights and digital advertising.
The company also hopes to boost sales of its GoLocal delivery service, according to a CNBC report.
The news comes at a time when retailers are rationalizing and cutting costs in light of inflation. For Walmart, consumers are buying groceries, but other product lines, such as clothing and electronics, are not growing.
Walmart’s global chief technology officer Suresh Kumar said the deal with Salesforce will allow Walmart to improve the shopper experience.
Walmart Global CTO Suresh Kumar said: told the media. “We will continue to improve our products, so in the end it will benefit us as well.”
Kumar said Walmart isn’t keeping all its secrets when it comes to selling its services.
“In fact, we are very selective in terms of choosing the type of technology we want to offer to other companies,” he said.
