However, Walmart fans should know that big companies keep their belongings under tight control with some security secrets.

Authorities are actually cracking down on theft as the “retail apocalypse” plagues store managers.
Luckily, those who claim to be former Walmart employees share some of the strategies retail giants use to track shoppers.
all-seeing camera
One former employee claimed that the retail store’s cameras are so high-tech that you can zoom in and read text messages on someone’s phone.
“When I got a job at Walmart, we were doing a walkthrough…they took us to a security room where loss prevention was going on,” claimed TikToker Athenia .

She shared a photo of what the loss prevention room looks like.
“It’s a collection of computers and all the aisles are shown,” she said. “And they have her 360-degree pinch-in-zoom her camera, which means you can turn anywhere in the store.”
Athenia explains that the camera can zoom in very far.
“They can literally read your text messages if they really want to.”
Giving an example from when she was training for the job, she explained that one of her loss prevention officers had magnified “so much that she could literally read the date in the newspaper.”
“They’re going to show us, and if they catch you stealing from Walmart, they’ll see you.”
secret officer
In another video, Athenia says:
“There were just two of us in our store…from morning to night, we walked around the store until it closed.
“They looked like normal shoppers. They were wearing gym shorts and were wearing normal clothes.”
“They intervene in a lot of situations,” Camacho said, but they’re primarily there to see “customers who are stealing, stuff in their pockets, stuff in their wallets.” There is
She went on to explain that if the accused wanted to leave before the police arrived, they could do so.
“They will stop you,” she said. “But as far as I know, they can’t hold you.”
self checkout security
Ateneer went on to claim that Walmart has a secret “pause” feature that employees can use to catch suspected thieves.
According to TikToker, using a gadget called a TC (touch computer) device, Walmart employees “can see all the items they’re buying, the total purchase amount, and the price of each item.” .
This gadget allows employees to suspend self-checkout kiosks at any time if a shopper suspects theft.
Athenia says:
“So if you click on the number at any point on this device, you’ll see your entire order and everything you’ve scanned so far.
“If you suspect you’re stealing, there’s an option at the bottom to pause the transaction.”

Former employees said the self-checkout screen would display an error message or freeze completely, preventing shoppers from scanning any more items.
To combat potential shoplifters, employees suggest taking them to a manned checkout and apologizing for the machine’s “malfunction.”
