Walton County Snowbirds partner with OneBlood to sponsor a blood drive each year. This year’s blood donation will take place on his February 15th at the Faith Fellowship Hall (306 S. Geronimo, Miramar Beach).
The OneBlood mobile bus stops at the parking lot from 8am to 3pm. The Snowbirds are adjusting their schedule. Contact Peg Breetz at 330-807-2379 to schedule an appointment. Everyone is welcome, not just Snowbirds. Each participant will receive a free OneBlood T-shirt of his and a $20 e-gift card that can be used at various retailers.

The club also holds a 50/50 raffle at each General Assembly during the season. Proceeds will support two of his $1,000 scholarships for South Walton High School students to attend college. To purchase tickets for the raffle, please attend the General Assembly.
Additionally, the club sells a FundRays Coupon Book for $20 throughout the season. These coupon books offer discounts at many local restaurants and stores in Walton and Okaloosa counties. Proceeds from the coupon book will be donated to Children in Crisis, a foster care organization in Fort Walton Beach.
Snowbirds also know how to have fun on the beautiful Emerald Coast. The Walton County Snowbirds held the first of his two social events on Jan. 20 at his Acme Oyster House in Miramar Beach. About 60 Snowbirds gathered at his Acme to socialize and meet new friends. The next social is February 3rd at The Beach House, 4009 S Sandestin Boulevard, Sandestin Bayside. The club will also host a dolphin cruise on the Southern Star on February 10th. Cruises, entertainment, food, beer, wine and soft drinks are available for just $30 per person. Snowbirds has several card groups during the season. Bridge will meet at Auston’s Restaurant on Miramar Beach on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 2:30pm. Euchre takes place at Culver’s on Route 98 on Wednesdays from 6-9pm. Hands and feet players will meet at 11:30 on Friday at The Beach House in Sandestin. After lunch, people play cards until about 4pm. Mahjong is played on Thursdays from 1-4pm at First Presbyterian Church in Destin. Finally, poker is played at Culver’s on Tuesdays from 6-9pm. Cards and games players can play every day with a variety of game options.
In addition to these activities and events, there are over 30 activities such as basketball, bowling, golf, aerobics, ballroom dancing, discussion groups, singles groups, trips to the Biloxi Casino, and more.

The club held its general assembly on January 26 at the Destin United Methodist Church. Hundreds of snowbirds attended and enjoyed the music of Cheryl Jones. The club presented a gift basket to its 600th member, Texas native Mike Carman. The club currently has 653 members. An additional opportunity to register for the Walton County Snowbirds’ activities this season will be at the Faith Assembly Hall at 306 S. Geronimo on Monday, February 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Miramar Beach. I have. In-season dues are $20 per person. You must be a member of the Walton County Snowbirds to participate in the activity.
You can also register at 9:00 am, one hour before the General Assembly. Each conference will include live entertainment, local vendors with giveaways and discounts to the facility, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle to benefit the scholarship fund, and the sale of the FundRays Coupon Book. It takes place on February 23rd at 10am at St Andrews Episcopal Church, 207 Harbor Blvd, Destin.
