Lansing, Michigan (WILX) – If you’ve ever shopped online, you’ve probably read customer reviews for products. As most people know, many online reviews are fake.
Amazon will do its best to remove those reviews. Amazon also sends thousands of products for free for honest reviews.
When looking up product reviews on Amazon, you may see reviews labeled “Vine Voices.” It’s a program Amazon launched a few years ago asking for honest and detailed product reviews.
Here’s how it works
Customers receive free products from Amazon in exchange for well-written and informative reviews. The company offers the product for free and Amazon fulfills it. Once your product arrives, Vine reviewers will try it out and submit a review.
Amazon says reviews don’t have to be positive, and neither Amazon nor the manufacturer has customer feedback.
One Vine reviewer received and reviewed hundreds of items, including cordless, battery-powered herbicides. His review is clearly marked as his Vine Voice so other customers know he received it for review.
Wouldn’t you like to be a Vine reviewer if you got free stuff like that?
The selection process is complicated. Customers can’t sign up, but Amazon browses reviews and if it finds a customer has left many detailed and helpful reviews, Amazon invites the person to her Vine Voices program.
So if you want to be part of the program, write detailed, helpful, and well-written reviews about your purchases on Amazon and hope you get selected.
By the way, Walmart and several other online retailers also have similar programs.
Walmart’s “Spark” program works much like Amazon’s vine program. Check the website for more information on these two programs.
