The first week of January 2023 is quickly coming to an end, and the first full weekend of the New Year is fast approaching. You may be wondering how to spend the night. Perhaps that includes daydreaming downtown late at night and reading spooky books by long-dead authors. Or maybe you’re heading out on a special date to a fancy restaurant.
If you’re like me, and you’re staying home more and more these days, you may be wondering what new shows and movies will be streaming this weekend. Plus, Amazon Prime, and HBO Max have a few things to check out.

The Pale Blue Eye (January 6th — Netflix)
Christian Bale stars in a mystery drama about a detective hired to investigate a grisly murder in West Point in 1830. He teams up with Edgar Allan Poe, one of the military school cadets, to solve crimes.

The Walking Dead Season 11 (Jan. 6 — Netflix)
the walking dead Finally finished. If you’ve been waiting for its release on Netflix, you’re done. Find out what happens to the cast of survivors of the sprawling zombie apocalypse in this 24-episode final season (which also made our list of the most disappointing shows of 2022!)
The Bad Batch Season 2 (January 4 — Disney Plus)

Menu (January 3rd — HBO Max)
everyone says look menu I think that’s what I’m doing tonight. For one thing, the cast is great. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult and Ralph Fiennes, and also stars John Leguizamo, Judith Wright and Hong Chau. Ralph Fiennes is a longtime favorite of mine, but I’ll admit I’m most excited to see Nicholas Hoult. The Great He’s such a foodie, and here he is in a movie about fine dining that went horribly wrong.
(Holt will also star alongside Nick Cage in the new Dracula movie. Renfield This looks silly).
The Rig (January 6th — Amazon Prime Video)
Because if the face in the trailer above looks familiar, it’s Jorah Mormont from the movie. game of thrones! Anyway, it’s Scottish actor Iain Glenn. game of thrones. Now he’s starring in a new Amazon Prime thriller rig, An eco-horror series about going very, very wrong on an oil rig. If you find mysterious and deadly fog scary, this might be the show for you.
