Zhejiang attracts tourists from Shanghai with a parade in Minhang District.
Neighboring Zhejiang province is luring Shanghai tourists with steep discounts and lavish cultural and tourism banquets to celebrate the Chinese New Year holiday.
More than 400 tourist attractions in Zhejiang will be free to enter during the holidays, the Zhejiang Province Culture and Tourism Bureau announced at a promotional event in Shanghai on Monday.
Hangzhou’s Qiandaohu Scenic Area, Xixi National Wetland Park, Tiger Leopard Park, Lingshan Scenic Area, Longmen Ancient Town Scenic Area, and Damingshan Scenic Area are on the list.
It also includes Yantang Mountain Scenic Area in Ningbo City, Lu Xun’s Former Residence in Shaoxing City, Keyan Scenic Area, Lanting Pavilion, and a more than 800-year-old classical garden, God Garden.
About 500 cultural activities related to the traditions and folklore of the Lunar New Year will be held in the province, and about 100 Lunar New Year-related cultural and tourism products will be launched.
The Chinese Tea Museum and Liuhe Pagoda in the scenic area of West Lake will host riddle deductions, tea ceremony performances and ascent events during the holidays.

A Song-style Spring Festival cultural tourism bazaar will be held in Hangzhou’s Qinghefang Historic District.The event features ancient games such as arrow throwing (Tofu), Decorated with fan paintings and lantern art recreating the Spring Festival celebrations of the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
Longmen Ancient Town hosts a gastronomic festival, and Song dynasty performances are held on a pleasure boat sailing the Fuchun River, known for Huang Gongwang’s (1269-1354) “Fuchun Mountain Residence”. The most famous Chinese landscape painting.
Ah Year Huo The (New Year) Market and Spring Festival Folk Parade will be held in the Qiaoxi Historical and Cultural District.
Huzhou’s Nanxun Ancient Town will showcase a rabbit light show accompanied by dragon and lion dances, while Huzhou Film City will host stilt walks, temple fairs and lantern-making activities during the holidays.
A total of 500 million yuan (US$73.85 million) worth of cultural and tourism coupons have been distributed to tourists to promote holiday consumption, according to the ministry.
